Positive Language Worksheet
Research shows that negative language can quickly trigger a “fight, flight, or freeze” response—a survival instinct that dates back to early human evolution, when being on high alert to dangers was essential. This “Negativity Bias” means we naturally focus more on risks or problems than on positive aspects. In leadership, however, the overuse of negative language can harm trust, morale, and teamwork.

By shifting to positive language, we create a more constructive and resilient environment. Reframing negative statements into positive ones helps reduce stress and fosters a culture of collaboration, making it easier to drive success together. Use this worksheet to explore practical ways to make this shift in your communication.
